In the time just before and during divorce, you might not know who you can turn to for support and guidance. Regarding all the legal aspects of divorce, it is certainly necessary and highly advisable to speak with a top-rated divorce attorney as soon as you or your spouse are considering filing for a divorce. The city of New York is being sued by a couple after they were restrained and reportedly falsely arrested after police were summoned to a Citibank branch in Greenwich Village where a protest had occurred.
On October 15, twenty-three year old Heather Carpenter, a nursing student, is crying “false arrest,” claiming that she had visited the Citibank with the intention of closing her account as part of her protest against a seventeen dollar monthly banking fee, an action suggested by the Occupy Wall Street movement. At the same time, roughly twenty protesters had gathered inside the bank, upset with their current economic conditions, including student loan debt and other hardships. These protesters were disruptive enough to cause bank employees to dial 911. (more…)

It was not a good night to be on the road in Prescott, Arizona, last Thursday, November 17, when 24 year old Michelle Watson reportedly assaulted two police officers after she was pulled over for erratic driving. Little did the officers who attempted to detain her suspect that Watson’s drunkenness would manifest itself in a belligerent attitude that saw her resisting arrest and assaulting both the police officers. By the end of the night, however, Watson would be photographed vamping for the camera as if she were on a reality TV show. (more…)

Student loan debt has gotten so out of control that in 2010, the collective amount owed in student loans was greater than that owed in credit card debt.
Clearly, student loan debt is a major problem; it has been one of the major rallying points of the Occupy Wall Street protestors from the start. You may not have it in you to head to the streets and publicly protest on behalf of the people who have been screwed over by their student loans, but there are some things you can do, at the very least, to help yourself out of the never-ending pit of student loan debt.
